Community Renewal Society engaged in sacred dialogue with community leaders to discuss solidarity, bridge building, organizing, ethics of love and honoring the full humanity of all where everyone can flourish. This poem was inspired by the author’s visit to historic state of Palestine, illegally occupied by Israel. It was presented as a part of a peace forum at The Carter Center in Atlanta, GA.

Asian American Christian Collaborative (AACC) condemns and denounces the violence committed in the Atlanta massacre on March 16, 2021. We call Christians and church leaders to make a clear and urgent response condemning this heinous act of hate, and we invite all Americans to work toward the dignity and respect of Asian and Asian American lives, especially women.

Over the course of a year, we have witnessed a growing campaign of violence targeting citizens of Asian descent in America. Hate speech from the highest office in the land helped to cultivate such violence resulting in fatalities and propagating stereotypes that threatens to pervade generations.

The woes we once again endure in the wake of 31 killed in Dayton, OH and El Paso, TX this past weekend by gun violence remains an unbearable burden. The same weekend in Chicago left seven people dead by gun violence with 46 wounded. It is unacceptable and we must reject this as a norm.

Pentecost is not only the longest season of the Christian liturgical calendar but one of the most prolific.
