CCPSA Meeting

  • Richard J. Daley College 7500 South Pulaski Road Chicago, IL, 60652 (map)

About this meeting: Earlier this summer, a ruling was made that when a police officer is accused of misconduct and could be suspended for more than a year or fired, the officer should have the option to have their misconduct case decided by an arbitrator rather than the Police Board. The Commission will be holding a hearing on the subject. Deputy Inspector General for Public Safety Tobara Richardson will be appearing before the Commission to provide information and answer questions about the arbitration process as it relates to disciplinary grievances.

The Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA) allows for public comments at their monthly meetings. Each person will have up to two minutes to speak. A total of twenty minutes will be dedicated to public comment at each meeting.

Public comments may be delivered at the meeting or by emailing CommunityCommissionPublicComment@cityofchicago.org in advance.

Those wishing to speaking during the meeting must provide their name in writing to the Community Commission staff between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM. If the number of interested speakers exceeds the time dedicated to public comment, speakers will be selected by a random drawing.

Visit the Chicago CCPSA YouTube page for recordings of previous monthly meetings.
