Douglass Branch Library Community Garden Outreach Initiative

The North Lawndale community banded together on the West Side for an outreach initiative to reconfigure the Douglass Branch Library on June 8. CRS participated in this gathering, making a beautiful garden bed and refining an abandoned park to provide harmony and learning. We are grateful to have been in attendance with neighbors and officials, including 24th Ward Alderwoman Monique L. Scott, Riot Fest Director of Community Relations George Herrera, Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) of Chicago President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony E. Simpkins, and Danita Robinson from NHS.

Check out the event photos below or find them on Facebook and Instagram, and stay tuned for future opportunities to cultivate Beloved Community with us.
