The Execution of Mr. Brandon Bernard Signals All Lives Still Do Not Matter in America

Since the Trump administration has lifted the moratorium on executions, the number of state sanctioned executions have been disproportionately of Black people. The denunciation of racialized violence and affirmation of sanctity of life should be obligatory on all levels of governance. The murder of Mr. Brandon Bernard and the disproportionate number of Black bodies executed by an openly racist executive branch signals all lives still do not matter in America.

Community Renewal Society calls for a renewal of the moratorium for state executions (murder) with a commitment to identify morally just and humane practices of seeking justice for all.
